GBIN chats to AKA designs Guy Wilson about their iconic ProEdit desk.
What inspired you to design the ProEdit desk
“We saw a need for high quality and affordable edit desks. The ProEdit desk was designed specifically for online and offline editing. The ProEdit desk is part of ProWave modular desking system. This allows users to customize their edit desk to meet their needs, whether they are editing, grading, mixing or VFX. There are also options to add racks and work surfaces to create your dream studio.”
Do you ship your products abroad ?
“Yes, we regularly ship our desks worldwide.”
Can AKA supply any studio equipment ?
“We do not supply the studio equipment but can supply Monitor arms and Mic arms with our desks.”
How long does it take to manufacture from order?
“We hold some desks in stock which would take 3>4 days to compile ready for shipping. However custom desks normally take 4>6 weeks from order.”
Will the electric rise and fall mechanism work with European and the American power outlets?
“Yes, the desks can work on 230v and 110 v power.”
How do the desks arrive ?
“The desks are shipped flat packed in a crate and can be easily assembled with basic tools.”
MD of AKA design Guy Wilson told GBIN “We offer a free design layout service so if you send us a floor plan of your studio, we will fit your ProWave system into the space. We also offer Hybrid with the ProWave range; this means custom sections can be built if required for a specific project.”
