InfinitySet includes new XR toolset and workflows at NAB
Brainstorm’s flagship virtual set and augmented reality solution now includes new dedicated XR tools and workflows
NAB 2022, booth N2608. Brainstorm, leading manufacturer of real-time 3D graphics and virtual studio solutions, will showcase at NAB (booth N2608) Suite 5, the latest version of InfinitySet, the company’s flagship product dedicated to virtual production. Already one of the benchmark products for photo-realistic virtual production and augmented reality worldwide, with Suite 5 InfinitySet now includes new features and tools to accomplish the increasingly popular workflows for LED-based XR productions, while adding an even tighter integration with Unreal Engine, including version 4.27.
InfinitySet includes many new features that allow for easier, faster, and more integrated creation of immersive XR content specifically designed to be displayed on large LED videowalls, which are becoming increasingly common for live production. With these features, Brainstorm clients will see their XR content creation significantly accelerated, when creating in-context AR in LED walls, XR Set extensions, or even backgrounds for film and drama production. InfinitySet now includes a dedicated interface for creating XR installations, which allows for modelling any kind of video wall, including flat, corner, floor, curved or installations of virtually any shape, and maps the desired 3D content in such model. Also, by taking advantage of the Layers and Stacking features of InfinitySet, different renders, even with different resolutions and aspect ratios, can be mapped in a canvas of any size and aspect.
Because of its flexibility, InfinitySet allows for creating mixed productions with LEDs and chroma sets, such as LED-based XR content that includes tele-transported keyed characters. The advanced tools of InfinitySet makes it simple for the users to create any kind of virtual content workflows ensuring precise perspective matching and accurate integration of the different elements, no matter if the production requires trackless, TrackFree™ or tracked camera setups. On top of its totally redesigned internal chroma keyer, InfinitySet is fully compatible with external chroma keying hardware and applications.
In addition, the unique integration of InfinitySet with Unreal Engine is now even tighter, allowing for the inclusion of fully editable Brainstorm scenes and templates within an Unreal project, and also for creating Unreal AR projects within InfinitySet, which benefit from Brainstorm’s advanced data-driven graphics and broadcast workflows compatibility. This is coupled with the acclaimed UnrealControl feature which supports for editing the Unreal Projects directly within InfinitySet’s familiar interface with total ease and control of blueprints, objects, and parameters.
“InfinitySet is our flagship product and one of the market’s choices for virtual production due to its power, flexibility and compatibility with virtually any broadcast workflow.” says Héctor Viguer, Brainstorm’s COO and Engineering Director. “As advanced, LED-based XR productions require a dedicated approach to ensure the right tools for the job, the new features present in InfinitySet 5 allow our solution to comply with any kind of VR/AR/XR requirement, regardless of how complex it is, and leaving users with total freedom to choose the production workflow or their choice, whether LED walls, chroma keying or both.”
